Sidar Sakar

Law Clerk

Sidar Sakar is a Law Clerk at Spar & Bernstein, P.C., where she supports attorneys in humanitarian and removal defense matters. Her work includes assisting with asylum applications, VAWA petitions, and other forms of relief before the immigration courts and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. She conducts legal research, drafts motions and supporting memoranda, and helps prepare evidentiary submissions as part of strategic case development.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Sakar worked at a New York immigration law practice handling complex immigration proceedings. She assisted in case strategy, prepared filings, and contributed to the development of legal arguments in humanitarian cases.

Ms. Sakar earned her law degree in Turkey and practiced as an attorney, where she was a member of the Istanbul Bar Association. Her experience included business immigration and investment-based matters such as citizenship by investment, residency, and work permit applications, as well as advising on cross-border investments and corporate formations. She later obtained her Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Fordham University School of Law.

While at Fordham, she provided pro bono assistance to detained individuals through the Feerick Center for Social Justice at the Elizabeth Detention Center and interned with the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Department, under the Honorable Manuel J. Mendez. Ms. Sakar is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Criminal Justice.
