Meghan Buckwalter joined Spar Bernstein P.C. in August of 2015 and practices exclusively in the areas of matrimonial and family law. Prior to joining the firm, Meghan was an associate at the Law Office of Deana Balahtsis where she focused on family and matrimonial litigation. Meghan received her J.D. from New York Law School in 2009. During law school, Meghan was a student advocate with the NYLS Domestic Violence Project/Courtroom Advocates Project, and was the President from 2008-2009. She was also a member of the Immigration Law Students Association for three years.
Before law school, Meghan received her B.F.A., magna cum laude, from Long Island University – C.W. Post, where she majored in arts management and music. At C.W. Post, Meghan was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society, and received the Academic Excellence Award every semester. Meghan concluded her undergraduate degree with a thesis paper and performance as part of her membership with the C.W. Post Honors Program.
Meghan strongly advocates for the rights of her clients and prioritizes having positive client relationships. Meghan’s compassion and drive fuel her desire to help her clients navigate the legal and emotional complexities that arise during family and matrimonial matters. Having dedicated her entire career to the practice of matrimonial and family law, Meghan has substantial experience litigating complex custody and visitation matters, handling fiscally complicated matrimonial issues, negotiating settlements, litigating child support, family offenses, abuse/neglect cases, and
preparing her clients for trial.
